Fixing the GOP

The foundations that have formed the base of the Republican party's ideals for many decades have been compromised. Like a metal chain under too much stress, the GOP faces the threat of snapping if it doesn't pull it's act together.

Fixing the GOP sounds like something that can only be done in Washington or in a politician's office. However, reinventing the Republican party involves you more than you may think. After all, this is supposed to be a government for the people and by the people. The problem, though, is that the "people" are not taking part of the political process. Sure, Americans go out in droves to vote, but once elections are over, we tend to sit in our homes and complain and do nothing.

To fix the Republican machine, we must take an active part in the process. Send letters to your representatives in congress. Sign petitions. Take part in fund-raisers. Volunteer at events that benefit your political party.

The reason that liberals won this year is not necessarily a sign that the GOP party is diminishing, but it is showing that liberals have done a better job of captivating young people to take part in the process. Throughout the entire election liberals flooded the internet with their message of change and hope. In other words, we as Republicans must drop the "old" ways and modify our ways of reaching voters in the 21st century!

What are your thoughts? How do you suggest we reignite the Republican party that we love so much?
