Rotten Illinois Syndrome

Illinois is has been and is continuing to prove to be a rotten state, at least in terms of politics. Has any politician that the state produced come out to be clean?

Not really. In fact, some would go so far to say that Illinois is the most corrupt state in the entirety of the United States. Personally, that a scary thought, especially since the President-elect Barack Hussein Obama is from Chicago, the very soul of Illinois.

Since the announcement of the arrest of Illinois governor Rod R. Blagojevich, the euphoria surrounding the Obama victory vanished. This accusation against the governor of trying to sell the Senate seat vacated by President-elect Barack Hussein Obama has raised questions of Obama's role in the crime spree.

Trying to steer clear from this rotten mess, Obama stressed in a press interview that the internal investigation had found that his staff and himself had no conversations with the Illinois governor that would imply their involvement in the alleged crimes.

If this scandal touches anyone in Obama's appointed staff or perhaps Obama himself, then we will see prosecutions spreading from Illinois to D.C., and it will prove that even Barack Hussein Obama can't escape the rotten political machine that is the state of Illinois.

The excitement surround Obama's victory is has been dampened. If Illinois is truly a machine that produces rotten politicians, America is in for a very, very long four years (hopefully not 8!)
