Why Would People Vote for a Democrat?

Does anyone ever use Yahoo answers? If you have, then you'll know that there are a lot of strange questions that are asked, and there are even more strange answers to those questions. If you haven't used Yahoo answers before, then now you know this.

One of the questions was "why people would vote for a Democrat?"

Have you thought about this? It doesn't make sense that Democrats are repeatedly elected and that they would win the 2008 election with a numeric landslide, not a popular landslide, though they won the popular vote.

After all, it was Einstein who once said, 'The definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results."

The implications that I am trying to make are perfectly clear. The poor, uneducated, lazy, and disadvantaged vote for Democrats over Republicans in disproportionate factions, yet they are still disadvantaged and poor! What does this tell you about electing Democratic officials who claim that they will "change" the system and use disguising words to admit that they are spreading the wealth?

Think about it? Does Obama truly represent change? If so, then why is his cabinet filled with legions of politicians who worked for the Clinton administration? Some may say that he is only trying to surround himself with wise people so he can make informed decisions. The only problem with this argument is that if the people wanted another Clinton administration, then they should have voted for Hillary! As Einstein said, you can't do things over and over again and expect different results...and guess what?! Obama is repeating the Clinton administration. You CANNOT deny it.

Now why am I ranting about all of this? Because people don't realize that the top 10 poorest cities in the United States are run by Democratic mayors for the last several years.

Here are the top 10 poorest cities:

1: Detroit, MI--hasn't had a Republican mayor since 1961
2. Buffalo, NY--hasn't had a Republican mayor since 1954
3. Cincinnati, OH--hasn't had a Republican mayor since 1984
4. Cleveland, OH--hasn't had a Republican mayor since 1989
5. Miami, FL--hasn't had a Republican mayor since...well, they've never had one!
6. St. Louis, MO--hasn't had a Republican mayor since 1949
7. El Paso, TX--never had a Republican mayor
8. Milwaukee, WI--hasn't had a Republican mayor since 1908
9. Philadelphia, PA--hasn't had a Republican mayor since 1952
10. Newark, NJ--hasn't had a Republican mayor since 1907

The facts are incontrovertible. It's absolutely astounding that people will fall for anything that sounds good or that goes against the Bush administration (which isn't even as bad as most people make it out to be).

Be politically correct...be part of the correct political party!

I am going to answer your original question: Why Would People Vote for a Democrat?

I'll preface by saying that I am a gay man who desperately wants gay marriage and complete equal rights.

Because of the above, I have no choice but to vote Democratic. Sure, I could vote Republican. But if I ever hope to gain the above rights, I would be wasting my time at this point. I cannot choose between Democrat and Republican because only Democrats protect and respect gay rights. What we need is a sweeping Republican movement to put religion aside and realize that gay people deserve marriage and equal rights. Gay rights is really a non-partisan issue, and it hurts that I don't have the real choice between Democrat and Republican.

That's why I vote Democrat. Because, if I didn't, I would see all of my hopes and dreams be destroyed by social conservatives.
