Bad Omens for Obama?

Seriously? Can anyone please tell me why in the world Obama's inauguration was more like a coronation than it was a presidential inauguration? Please don't say that Obama is now "King" instead of president...because if that were the case, I would have to leave the country.

There's one thing to say about the showiness of the inauguration, and it's that Obama's head needs to shrink so that it will actually fit on his shoulders. There used to be reverence for the highest position of power in America, and this inauguration has stomped all over that reverence by celebrating Obama's inauguration as though we were praising a god. What a shame.

But thank goodness that this is America, and that we do not actually have a king. However, cultures that have celebrated kings such as ancient Rome, practice superstitions that we in America do not. Sometimes I wish that we had some superstitions in America, because if that were the case, then Obama would have already been removed from office because of several bad omens that occurred during the inauguration, and we would be searching for a new leader.

The most first omen was when the Chief Justice flubbed on the oath of office that Obama had to take. It's quite sad that Obama didn't even take the oath correctly to be sworn in as president on his inauguration day. What's even sadder is that hardly anyone knows; the press barely covered it, and the fact that he retook the oath the next day didn't even make headlines.

Then during the celebratory luncheon, Senator Tedd Kennedy had a seizure and was taken to the hospital. That isn't a good sign at all. For me, that's the worst omen of everything that happened on inauguration day; something life threatening should never be taken lightly.

And then the DOW dropped 330 points on inauguration day. Seriously, if Obama is going to be so good for the economy, then wouldn't the DOW have soared sky high? Well, it looks as though Wall-Street has it's head on the right way...they know how bad Obama will be for this economy.

If we had philosophers like the ones that existed in ancient Rome, they would have freaked out at all of these bad omens. They would have removed Obama from power, and Obama would be wondering what went wrong.

Anyways, since that won't happen, we must realize that new presidents have a 100 day honeymoon with the press and people. In other words, for those 100 days, the incoming president faces overwhelming good-will from everyone. For me, however, the honeymoon is long over; good will towards a man who's inauguration was filled with bad omens doesn't make sense to me. I've seen through his facade; his mask is slipping and I am beginning to see the true color of his face: inexperience. And I hope that you will see the same.

Good blog. I agree Obama's inauguration was overdone and too extravagant for the times WE the American People are having.

Thank you for being a concerned person. I have hope for our youth when I see such talent put to a good use. I enjoy your videos, and wanted to put them on my facebook, however, some of my 'friends' are PG only, so the references to Monica would not be good for them to hear. Otherwise, keep up the good work.

It was Roberts who flubbed the oath, which was probably because of a guilty conscience.
